ReDSOFT participated in the
activities of the World Summit for Information Society which was held in
Tunisia in 2005, As the center participated in many workshops and seminars, and
has been exchanging experiences and ideas with many international societies relevant
to software and educational e-learning, and held several meetings with the
relevant authorities to develop e-content in the Maghreb region and the world.
The World Summit on the
Information Society concerned as a summit of world leaders who are committed to
harnessing the potential of the digital revolution in information and
communications technology to serve humanity.
It represents real multi-stakeholders who
include governments, intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental
organizations and the private sector and civil society.
The goal of the summit is
"Building the information society, inclusive and development-oriented, a
society where everyone can develop information and knowledge, access, use and
sharing, and enabling individuals, communities and peoples to achieve their
full potential in promoting their sustainable development and improving the
quality of their lives."
In accordance to resolution
56/183 of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Summit was organized
in two phases - Geneva, 10 to 12 December 2003 and Tunisia, 16 to 18 November
2005. And assigned to the International Telecommunication Union state
performance leading role in the preparatory work in cooperation with other
interested organizations and partners.
